In the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, this boutique-inspired project transformed an old playroom into a multi-purpose dressing room and sanctuary.

How do you create a space that is as naturally a serene oasis as it is a potential hangout hub? For this project, the answer was all about intention. Each space and feature of the room has a specific purpose, meant to relax, delight, or entertain – whatever the moment calls for.
Inspired by the timelessness of Chanel designs, this dressing room derives its color palette from the nude and black trim of a classic Chanel compact. The tweed rug, lush chaise, and curated staging areas bring the luxury shopping experience into our client’s own home.
A custom-built vanity fully utilizes every inch of space to fit our client’s specific needs. Built-in brush cups keep makeup brushes organized and accessible, without cluttering the countertop. Custom suede drawer inserts give a special function to each drawer and keep away clutter – sunglasses, makeup, and purses all have their own place.
The subtlety of the staging area gives the feel of a boutique dressing room. A singular hook makes a dramatic statement, and lets the clothes do all the talking.
And what good is a spot to unwind without the proper provisions? A built-in champagne fridge is the cherry on top that transforms the role of the closet from a room of function to one of pure indulgence.
